27 Jan The Start of a New Year
The Christmas rush or relaxation is behind us, Australia Day has been and gone. The first month of year 2017 has almost departed. We have come back from break, looked at all of the backlogged and accumulated work and e-mails, and probably jumped straight back into where we left off at the end of last year.
But what was 2016 really like? Was it a good year? Profitable? Did you achieve what you wanted? Do you know what you achieved? Have you taken the time yet to reflect on the year that was so that you can change what didn’t work and build on what did? As individual’s and business’ we need to take stock of and assess the goals and objectives that were set for last year and then plan to build on these or develop new ones for the year ahead.
Planning is just the start for you to achieve in 2017; you must also act on your plan, check your progress regularly, and make necessary changes to keep on target.
“Being busy does not always mean real work. The object of all work is production or accomplishment and to either of these ends there must be forethought, system, planning, intelligence and honest purpose, as well as perspiration. Seeming to do is not doing” – Thomas A Edison
